Childcare which puts your child first
We treat every child as a developing individual and provide the support, surroundings and encouragement for a happy and fulfilling childhood. Our friendly team of qualified childcare professionals will develop special relationships with your child so that they are happy spending their time with us.
Our children are encouraged to discover and learn through a mix of structured activities, group or individual projects and personal encouragement so that each child develops at their own pace. We follow the Reggio approach to childcare, supporting a child’s natural curiosity through a wide range of experiences with lots of positive support from staff.
Great facilities indoor and out
We have excellent facilities both indoor and out and are proud to be a Forest School. Our children have on-site access to a dipping pond, orchard and the facilities at the Web Adventure Park which include a huge soft play area, animal zone and outdoor play equipment. Our facilities have been developed to allow for a huge range of exciting and relaxing activities throughout the typical week.
Convenient childcare for parents
Childcare works best when it makes life easier for parents and carers. We are situated less than a minute’s drive from York’s outer ring road, with plenty of parking which makes it a convenient nursery for many of our parents to drop off their child on the way to work. We’re open from 7.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
Who we are
Little Bugs Childcare is part of the Web Adventure Park, home of Creepy Crawlies and Wired High Ropes and it was set up as an independent nursery in January 2013. We are an active member of the National Day Nurseries Association and the Haxby and Wigginton Shared Foundation Partnership. Both organisations link Nurseries in the area for networking purposes and to share ideals around working together for the benefit of childcare generally.
The owner of Little Bugs Childcare is a qualified childcare professional and former primary school teacher, who is passionate about childcare and early years development.
She has two children of her own, so fully understands the needs of working families and the importance of high quality, excellent value childcare.
We are also very proud winners of the national Balppa Early Years Healthy Futures Award 2018.
Come and visit
By far the best way to find out more is to come and see us for yourselves. If you would like to simply pop in and pay us a visit unannounced then you’ll find a warm welcome, although you may wish to avoid our busiest time over lunch! If you prefer to make an appointment then get in touch to arrange a convenient time. Of course, you’re very welcome to bring your child with you.
We can also put you in touch with parents who have already chosen Little Bugs Childcare themselves to give you a parent’s perspective on our service.
We are proud to be approved by York Mumber.
